Texas executed
Lee Taylor on June 16, 2011. Taylor was sentenced to death for the fatal stabbing in 1999 of Donte Greene, a fellow inmate, while serving time in state prison. There have been 469 inmates put to death since Texas resumed executions in 1982, and Taylor was
only the second white convict executed for killing an African American.
This is the 21st execution in the United States in 2011, the fifth in Texas.
