The dimensions of a room are one of the most overlooked features when one decides to get a quality Home Theater. The Size and shape of your room can affect the quality of your Home Theater system. The dimensions of your room will determine how the sound will interact with your walls especially low frequency sound waves.
The ideal shape of a room would be rectangular. However it's better to stay away from rooms where the length and width are double of the height. Let's take for example if the height of your home theater system is about 8', the length and width should not be 16' x 24' both which are multiples of 8, try altering about one dimension by a foot and it should be fine. A square shaped room would be the least acoustic friendly shaped that you can have.
If one has invested quite a bit of buying their AV system, the weakest link in the home theater system would be the acoustic properties of the room. Any room for that matter requires some sort of acoustical enhancements, most of the cases you would be sitting more than 3' away from your primary speakers. When doing this, the major part of the sound would come to you indirectly bounced from the walls in your room rather than directly from the primary speakers. Hence your room will amplify some sounds and tones down other sounds.
In order to make the best of your home theater investment you need to be able to control how the sound waves bounce around your room. This can be solved by hanging acoustic panels in your theater. The majority of time you need to use absorptive acoustic panels, these panels help to absorb sound waves which stop the bouncing of sound on several walls before they reach your ears. When your Home Theater design demands a large portion of your room to be covered in panels, then you should consider installing Diffusive acoustic panels. These panels contain uneven surfaces (hidden by acoustic fabrics) which help distribute the sound wave such that they don't bounce all over the room, yet they keep the room sounding alive and vivid.
In the upscale neighborhoods of New York home theater systems incorporate the dedication of an entire room to the viewing of high definition entertainment. In addition to professionally installed screens and custom designed sound systems these movie rooms often incorporate theater style seating with large oversized chairs, individually arranged and sometimes staggered in two rows with plenty of leg and elbow room, for viewers to enjoy. These elaborate viewing rooms bring all of the sights and sounds of spectacular movie productions from the big screen right into the home.
With the advances in digital television and high definition products saturating the market almost everyone can recreate the movie going experience in their own home. The adaptations of surround sound speaker systems that deliver crisp tones and basses in concert with a big screen television have led to a home theatre revolution. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can affordably recreate the experience of going to a movie in their living room, but it takes a true professional to design and create a custom installation of home theater system that transforms ordinary television watching into a feast for the senses.

Cool Ideas for Your Home Theater
So you have your home theater equipment and you're ready to set up your new room, but you want to make sure you make it, well, as cool as possible. It's already pretty special that you get to set up this room for your family. Why not add a few special touches that will make it excellent. Here are some ideas making your home theater really cool.
1. Go vintage
Use history's theaters as a model for yours. Think of those decadent 1920s theaters with the big gold double doors. Even if you don't get the doors, you can still model your room off of those elegant red carpets and red plush seats. Consider covering the walls with wood paneling and vintage sconces that give the room a rich feeling when they're on. If you want to really drive the idea home, get those chairs monogrammed. This Parisian opera house feel is great for classic movie buffs and people who love all things vintage.
2. Go man cave
If your theater is mostly going to serve as a man cave for sports game viewing, choose decor that imitates a sports bar feel. Choose wood molding and simple recessed lighting. Use neutral paint to emphasize the manly feel of the room. Use leather seating to increase the feeling of relaxing and enjoying the games. Granite bars going in front of the seating will be a great place to serve beer and snacks. Or, if that's too elaborate, you can get the seats that have a cup holder attached to them and use trays to serve food.
3. Go simple
If your home theater is more prominent in your house, you may not want a novelty room front and center. If you want to incorporate your home theater into the rest of you house's decor, match the paint and lighting to reflect that. Choose light walls. Since you may not be able to set up stadium style seating, you can just build one level above the ground level. This way, people can sit on the floor and on the couch above without feeling crammed.
4. Go modern
If you like clean lines and want to emphasize the techie feel of the home theater choose a concrete bar for the back of the room and concrete walls. Choose square chairs that emphasize strong lines and make the lighting just as angular. The result will be Star Trek meets Pottery Barn, and it will be beautiful.
5. Go kid friendly
If the home theater is mostly going to be for the kids, consider letting them weigh in. Of course, you might not be able to model the theater after a princess castle or spider man, but you can get some ideas that can be translated into a more civilized space. Consider hanging pictures of the kids' favorite cartoon characters or getting colorful sconces that make the space fun for kids but still tasteful enough for adults.
Once you've decided on your video equipment and you've started to set up the technology, you'll want to start considering the design of the room. It's great that you'll have a new fun room for the family, but it can be that much more fun if you make the room really cool -- whatever cool means to you and your family.

The Hot Chicks Club

There are four pretty socialites, who are all part of Manila’s richest. Theirs maybe the life any girl may wish for -- the most expensive shoes, high-end designer bags, chauffeured cars and fabulous parties -- but behind the glitz and glamour are the struggles and differences that they are going through in their respective lives.
The spoiled-rich girl (SG) is such a bossy brat and often clashes with her closest friends. She's kind of bitchy, doesn't watch her words and whatever she does she always wants the media to be present for exposure. In a recent event, SG did her best to appear in a protest action because media was there covering it. She really is publicity hungry who wants everything magnified.
SG is friends with the daughter of an ex-politician (DP) whose assets were frozen, is still in denial and desperately wants to belong to the upper class society. How can she afford the luxuries in life she was so used to? And how long will she be able to cover-up her real financial status since she’s claiming that she’s still part of Manila’s elite?
And the last two are these daughters of former beauty queens who have had a long-standing unfriendly competition. Their interest seem to always intertwine. One of them (DQ1) was spotted at the Polo Club dating an all-around guy employee (GE) of the said exclusive establishment. But just very recently, it was (DQ2) who was spotted having a date with (GE). Do these girls prefer to risk everything, including their riches and reputation, not to mention the wrath of their parents for a guy like GE? Is GE into a win-win game, capitalizing on his looks to fish two lovely girls?
Well then...let's wait and see.

Throwing a Star Trek Party
Star Trek isn't everyone's cup of tea. However, there are millions of people who adore Star Trek. It's something that spans generations, can be cerebral, exciting and even "cool." Whatever you thought of the latest incarnation of the franchise, it did bring the Star Trek even more into the mainstream, and made it much more acceptable to throw a star trek party!
Star Trek parties are great because there are all sorts of Star Trek props and products out there. It's never been easier to furnish your home with a wide range of Star Trek related goodies. Whether it's a mock up of the holodeck or a couple of fasers dotted around the room.
Star Trek has inspired lots of music over time. William Shatner leant his voice (ahem) to various covers of some classic tracks, and songs like Star Trekkin' are guaranteed to get the party started. If you want to broaden your theme, then you could of course use anything related to space.
Finally of course, you've got the costumes. There's something that really appeals about a Star Trek costume, and the sixties version can even be a little racy. Again, these costumes are very available online, and are great fun to wear.
Similarly, you can find all sorts of movie props and props related to the Star Trek franchise by looking online.

The Best Movie Jewellery of All Time
Film award ceremonies and premieres of late have inspired many jewellery designers to try their hand at replicating some of the most beautiful jewellery seen in the world's most famous films. From the elegant pieces of the classic black and white movies to the show-stopping sparkle of pieces in modern-day films, there is no doubt that some incredibly stunning jewellery items have graced cinema screens over the years. Provided below is a summary of five films featuring necklaces, rings and earrings that will stop you in your tracks.
Heart of the Ocean
One of the most famous necklaces in the film industry has to be the Heart of the Ocean, otherwise known as the glittering jewel necklace that formed a central part of the film, Titanic. Although there was initially some confusion about what the setting was, with many mistaking it for a blue diamond, the wardrobe department from the film later revealed that it was a blue cubic zirconium. The jeweller who created the necklace was asked to design another version of the same necklace. This new version featured diamonds worth several million pounds and a stunning 170-carat Sapphire jewel. The necklace was worn at the 1998 Academy Awards by the singer Celine Dion, whose song, My Heart Will Go On, was featured in the film.
Rubies of Pretty Woman
One of the best scenes in the film Pretty Woman is, without a shadow of a doubt, the one in which Edward gives Vivian a box and snaps it shut whilst Vivian bursts out laughing. The Diamond and Ruby necklace inside went beautifully with her now iconic white gloves and red gown. The piece is thought to be worth more than £200,000 and was created by one of the most famous jewellery shops in France, Fred Joaillier. The necklace was made from 18k white gold and was then encrusted with diamonds and rubies.
Monroe's Diamonds
The jewels worn by iconic beauty Marilyn Monroe whilst acting in the film, Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend, are still adored by all who watch this film today. Her collection of jewellery during the film was so large that it's almost impossible to choose just one piece; in one scene, where Marilyn wore the stunning hot pink dress, she was draped in diamond bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces.
Carrie and the Black Diamond
Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City 2 wore an eye-catching 5-carat black diamond ring. Big, the love of Bradshaw's life, gives her the ring because he considers her to be unique, just like the diamond. Black diamonds became hugely popular after the film aired, much like the 'Carrie' letter necklace shot to fame during the television series.
Yellow Isadora Diamonds
Last, but certainly not least, is the Isadora necklace with an 84-carat yellow diamond, worn by Kate Hudson in the film, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The real necklace is reportedly worth £3 million; however, even the replica used in the film was worth £8,000!

Madea's Witness Protection
Madea's Witness Protection is a 2012 American comedy film directed, written, and produced by Tyler Perry. This was the fourteenth film in the Tyler Perry film franchise and the seventh in the Madea franchise. It is the fourth Tyler Perry film not adapted from a play, alongside The Family That Preys, Daddy's Little Girls, and Good Deeds, as well as the first Madea film not adapted from a play.
George Needleman (Levy), a high level CFO in New York City, promises his son that he will take him to his Saturday afternoon baseball game after he gets back from the office. He gets to his office and arrives to a harrowing scene; his co-workers are shredding documents and are in a state of chaos. He sees his boss (Arnold), who informs him that his company is a Ponzi scheme run by the mob. He is being accused of spearheading the scheme and laundering funds and has to enter his family into a witness protection program. The program relocates them to a refuge where no one will think to look for them: Madea and Joe's house in Georgia.
Meanwhile, Jake (Miller) - whose ailing father (Amos) is a church pastor who has put him in charge of the church's mortgage fund - stages a robbery (which is unsuccessful). Jake, who has a criminal past but whose father trusts that he has turned over a new leaf, is trying to recover church funds that he has invested in Needleman's company without his father's knowledge or consent, only to lose the entire investment in the Ponzi scheme.
The Needhams' first meeting with Madea and joe is awkward and bodes poorly for how everyone will get along. However, over time, Madea (Perry) helps Kate (Richards) and Cindy (Campbell) relate better to each other and to other family members, while Joe (Perry) and Kate help George become more confident, more in touch with his surroundings and people around him, and more effective in channeling his emotions.
Barbara (Roberts) displays dual sensibilities about "colored people". On one hand, she mistakes Madea for a domestic named Sadie, treats "Sadie" imperiously, and threatens to get her fired. On the other hand, she recognizes Joe as a man she slept with years ago, and relates to him seductively; she also enjoys Negro spirituals and repeatedly asks to be taken to the African American church down the street from Madea's house.
Pastor Nelson's sermon inspires George to recognize a pattern in his company's records that explains where 10% of the stolen funds have been stashed. After church, watching Whoopi Goldberg's Oda Mae Brown character in Ghost inspires George to involve Madea in a plan to redivert funds from the "stashed" accounts back to the charities whose investments were stolen in the Ponzi scheme. The plan requires George (who disguises himself to avoid detection by the Malone mob "family"), Jake, and Madea (who assumes the identity of an upscale woman named Precious Jackson) to travel to New York City, and for "Precious" to meet with a bank manager to transfer funds from the laundered accounts to the legitimate charities. Madea successfully accomplishes her mission, although she improvises both an expansion of her assumed identity (by pretending to be the oldest Jackson sister) and of the accounts to which "Precious's" funds are transferred.
When George and Jake begin to share their plan with Brian (Perry), he cuts them off and advises them it is illegal. However, after they pull off the caper, Brian informs George that his cooperation with the authorities and his successful efforts to return the charities' funds have given Brian leverage to sentence George to probation and waive a trial and jail time.
Kate points out to Brian that the situation has strengthened their relationship and their family, and that it is a blessing in disguise. Upon leaving Madea's house, Cindy and Howie ask if they can come back to visit.
Before returning to New York, the Needhams visit Pastor Nelson's church one last time. The Pastor and Jake burn the mortgage papers and the entire congregation celebrates the mortgage's being paid off, and the Needhams enjoy the Negro spirituals. Madea also enjoys the spiritual music from her front porch, albeit in a more secular way.

G.I. Joe 2 Pushed Back to 2013 to Get 3D Treatment
Summer movie lineup in 2012 has lost one of its most anticipated titles. It has been reported that Paramount Pictures has decided to push back the release date for "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" from June 29 this year to March 29, 2013.
According to Deadline, the sudden decision was made in order to give the action movie a 3D treatment. "We're going to do a conscientious 3D job because we've seen how it can better box office internationally," explained the studio exec to the film site. "Jim Cameron did all of 'Titanic' 3D in post - and look how well that movie turned out."
Paramount seemingly made a right decision given that 3D format is more promising internationally with Russia and China building new 3D theaters this week. Though so, Hollywood is shocked over the postponement news since Paramount has been massively promoting "G.I. Joe 2" including making a Super Bowl ad earlier this year.
As for another reason why the high-octane movie gets delayed for nine months, it is said that the studio has learned from the blockbuster performance of "The Hunger Games" which proved that March can be a prime time to release big movies.
In "G.I. Joe 2", the Joe team must work together to fight against mercenary Zartan and his accomplices. Having the world leaders under his influence, Zartan launches attack towards innocent populace and has some new heavies on the payroll to keep G.I. Joe at bay.
The Jon M. Chu-directed action film brings back Channing Tatum, Ray Park and Lee Byung-hun as Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow respectively. They will be joined by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Roadblock, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, Elodie Yung as Jinx and Bruce Willis as General Joseph Colton.

Trouble in Fantasyland
Designer L filed a case on the violation of his intellectual property rights against the producers of the movie. The case stems from the use of the design of L in the costume of the villain in the final scene. In the movie credits, the name of Designer L appeared, which seems to imply that he allowed the use of his design. However, this is not the truth! Designer L never gave his consent for the use of his design in the movie. The question is whether any production person even approached him at all to ask permission.
One of the smaller movie outfits quickly washed its hands of any involvement in the case and immediately pointed to the stellar movie outfit as responsible for the production. Soon, the smaller movie outfit will attempt to clear its name of any involvement in the said case. The stellar movie outfit has yet to issue a statement on this matter.
While everyone thought all is well in the land of enormous profits, this situation merely reflects that all successful ventures will vanish into fantasy with a lawsuit involving millions.
