Someone (SO) is posting random pictures of herself with a very popular actor (VP). Sources claim SO is the daughter of a character actress. There seems to be nothing wrong with posting pictures, right? However, could the pictures tell more than what they show? Is she a special girl in the life of VP?

Uh oh. Here lies the problem. First, VP is not single and is committed to a young feisty actress (YF). Second, it seems that VP is back to his alleged old ways.

VP has been going out with the same group, which is a mixture of the hip crowd of this generation, and is the same company of one of his earlier relations. If the gang is not clubbing, they stay at a friend’s house until the sun shines. Worse, VP’s company is noted for doing “stuff."  Worst, it’s alleged that the source of their daily “stuff” is none other than VP himself. Perhaps, VP does not mind the cost of the "stuff" as he is on top of raking in money for his network.

Sadly, YF is nearing her saturation point and can no longer stand the booze, the girls, and the alleged habit. On the one hand, will YF call it quits any time and show that she has learned her lesson from her past relationship? On the other hand, will YF just take the behavior of VP with a grain of salt and hope he will come to his senses?

The other question is the seeming deafness and blindness of the network of VP with regard to his alleged activities. Is the network tolerating VP because he is one of their most bankable actors? While VP might be ruining himself under the guise of living his life fully, can’t the network have the heart to help him live a cleaner life, and make him a true role model just like his public image?

The Lingering Attitude of the Actor

As the tensions in this teledrama continue to rise, the production has imposed a ban on visiting fans on the set so the stars can focus more on their drama scenes. Although fans are often welcome on the set, they can sometimes cause delay and add to the intense atmosphere during a taping.

In this particular soap, all but one lead actor (LA1) adhered to the directive. His fans arrived at the set despite the ban. When the production assistant (PA) of the other lead actor (LA2) saw the presence of fans, PA asked the production about it. When LA1 found out that the PA was the one who asked, he yelled at the PA. Naturally, PA told LA2 about how LA1 screamed at him. Then, LA1 and LA2 ended up screaming at each other. LA1 and LA2 are not into fighting, hence no fists were exchanged at the height of their yelling, and there was no slapping nor hair pulling as well.

After some time, the business unit head arrived and inquired about what transpired. LA1 acted as though nothing happened and even denied that such an incident occurred. However, someone from the production came forward and testified he saw and heard everything. LA1 could not say anything more as the witness was someone he should not entangle with.

This incident is just one of the events that have added to the ill feelings of production people towards LA1. His makeup artist left him. Then, even the in-house makeup artist got irritated when LA1 demands to be fixed first. LA1 does not pay nor does he give tips. LA1 has only done a few dramas and some commercials, yet success has gone to his head. He might have a hard time lasting in the business if no one can get along with him. As for LA2, he might have his own idiosyncrasies, but he is not as arrogant as LA1.

Dinner to Go

In this day and age, no amount of a person’s supposed wholesome reputation can stand on its own and can be sustained without occasionally committing blunders here and there. Not the age, fame, wealth can make a person behave 100% as society dictates.

Beauty icon BI is getting the flak for being a major turn off to the production team PT and her co-stars during taping days of a teleserye where she stars. All  they ask is some proper and acceptable behavior from her as befits her stature  - not act as if she is being starved and deprived. It is the least people and co-workers expect from her.

On regular taping days, food prepared on every set is usually just enough for the people involved in the production – stars, staff, other talents, camera men and technical people. Every taping day, everyone on the set is so turned off with BI. Why? As soon as food gets laid on the table, she makes sure to get to the table way ahead of everyone else. She brings with her containers to be filled up with food - "to take home to my pets" – that is her justification. Lucky pets, indeed, as they get the best portions and untouched food meant for the entire production who are the ones sweating it out on the set.

Anyone worth her salt will not even come close to thinking of doing what BI does shamelessly. Especially so when you’re found out that you’re feeding your ‘doggie loot’ not to your pets at home, but to your house maids, driver, etc. Aww, such a very kind and thoughtful master!

Some insiders ask that if all that doogie food is BI’s concern, she might do better connecting with a relative who owns a restaurant and go straight to the kitchen and devour everything there for all her heart’s content.

Gotta be the Odd One Out

Any competition can not run smoothly without the mechanics and rules to abide by by the contestants. Both contestants and judges must understand and follow the rules set by the production. But sometimes, as in any production, some things happen beyond anyone’s control that will necessitate bending of some rules to be able to address a particular concern that unexpectedly cropped up along the way. Usually, these are not known to the viewers.

Let's take a particular audition in a new singing competition. According to contest rules and mechanics, the contestants CO who passed the first part of the audition would have the leeway and luxury to choose who they want to mentor them for the rest of the duration of the contest. They were to select from among the lineup of the contest judges who are all competent and top Filipino performers.

As such, all the judges have that awe and powerful appeal to the contestants, such that they were always chosen to be the mentors - except for one M1. M1 who is one of the country's no-nonsense performers and who had won a number of awards, too, was surprisingly unfortunate not to be popular with the CO.

At any time during the taping, there was no single CO who chose and wanted to be mentored by M1. It was really such a pain and a very awkward situation not only for M1, but for the most part to the rest of the judges. They too, felt that something was not right. Expectedly, it was both difficult and embarrassing for M1. The production was so bothered, and felt they had to intervene.

After a meeting, a compromise and adjustment of the rules was arrived at. The solution was that some contestants were asked ahead of time that they would have to choose M1 as mentor. So in the next round, M1 was able to get a fair share of contestants who 'chose' and 'liked' her to guide them along the way.

So that's it. Production had to balance by injecting something that's alien to all. It was something weird and unheard of, but had to be done, nonetheless – whether it is liked or not.

A Man's Fantasy

LUST for the flesh or its trade has already become a form of entertainment for most men, in general.  What used to be a taboo in regular conversations has now become a regular topic and is already a part of itinerary of any man on an adventure.

Mostly male visiting tourists, athletes or just any traveler would normally look out for the hottest men and women to complete their ‘exploit.’ The operative word here is “booking.”  The word booking takes on a different meaning when it pertains to the world’s oldest profession.

Generally, whether tourists or locals, booking is common among celebrities, gays, businessmen, and the like. It has leveled up long ago as a form of entertainment - an SOP (standard operating procedure) to close a business deal, to give as a gift to clients or friends, to ‘baptize’ an innocent for a rite of passage to manhood and a host of other reasons and/or justifications. Depending on your budget, you can have the hottest and the ordinary-looking players, as the case maybe.

Famous people, usually celebrities command a bigger fee to get booked. Locally,  there are a lot of them around. Those without regular projects engage in this as a sideline for added income.

Popular and gifted siblings PS and GS have allegedly become trade players even before they entered the entertainment industry. They are quite known in the ‘trade’  and  both have famous and wealthy clients who call on a regular basis. A recent client was an international athlete IA who came to the country for a series of engagements.

As is common practice, IA was asked by colleagues if he wanted to get some booking. He was shown a list of photos to select, he chose PS. On the night of their tryst, the big and playful IA was not pleased with PS, he wanted something  more from her but was not there. In exasperation, he told her bluntly, “ Go find and tell your sister to come here. I want her big B right now!

PS did as told, and after a while, came sister GS smiling, willing and able to fulfill IA’s desires.

Every Deal is a Joy that Bears Value

Competition in showbiz is getting more and more competitive and fiercer by the day. Having talent and good looks alone will not land you a decent star status. You better have the right connections, a pedigree or royalty status to back you up, too. And what’s more, unless you know how to kowtow and do PR with the right people, you might as well forget your “artista” dream.

Showbiz to most people is the ultimate dream to fame and fortune, an answer to their misery, want and deprivation. To most watchers it is an addiction, an opium, a cult. A passport to instant riches if you are extremely lucky. The biblical phrase, “Many are called but few are chosen, ” also applies aptly in our local entertainment world.

Since there are many gifted and talented stars, not everyone manages to get a slice of the small pie. There is certainly a big gap for supply versus demand - many stars waiting for only a few projects available. So if you do not want to be caught flat-footed, you got to do your homework and learn to be smart.

To get projects, some stars resort to being ‘buddies’ with the “powers that be,” so to speak. Still others go beyond being just ‘buddies’ – if you get the drift. While still others go the safer route. Like this handsome but not so young actor HA who has to do some expensive gift-giving to a network top gun TG.

Reportedly, HA‘s projects just come and go, which is quite understandable since he is not that bankable anymore and as such had already seen better days. HA is a family man and needs every project to keep his family safe and sound. Thus to be able to get some favors, he and his manager decided to woo TG by giving him an expensive art piece. TG liked it so much and had it displayed in his new home.

Soon after, HA got word that he would be cast in the network’s newest project. So there you go: different strokes for different folks.

His Jangled Musical Notes

There's this notoriety in networks NE to make its popular stars do something else that is not in their line of expertise. To showcase them right away in public without utmost preparation becomes a major embarrassment especially for the stars concerned.

For example, when a star ST becomes very popular via a hit teleserye, you can already predict what the next move of NE would be: have the star record a song or even an album without ample amount of preparation. Or it can be the other way around: the popular winner in a singing contest is made to star  in a teleserye even if ST can barely act at all, or is not yet ready for it. It is okay to be multi-talented, but to rub these ill-prepared ST's in on the public's conciousness is really punishing both for the stars and the viewing public.

During a recent event in a big mall, a popular and talented actor TA was there to promote his album. Expectedly, a lot of people went to see and hear him sing live. He sang a cut from his album before a very enthusiastic audience. However, midway into the song, TA was not able to hold his own as he sang out-of-tune. The audience was tolerant for a while and even showed polite appreciation. 

However as TA was at it, his singing went haywire and the polite crowd became unforgiving this time. TA did not expect what was forthcoming – he was booed right then and there! Shocked and embarrassed, TA retreated backstage as soon as he finished his number. Indeed – what a tense number!

Calling a Spade a Spade

In any television or movie production, the production staff PS are expected to make working conditions comfortable for its actors, supporting talents, and even for the technical people involved. This way, work becomes easier and more inspiring, which eventually translates to happy workers who will bring in bigger and more productivity for the project. In short, treating people right is always a “win-win” proposition.

Veteran actress VA is actively working for network A - NA  and has been there for years and relationship has been pleasant. She is a valued talent and is given regular projects. So far VA has no complaints vis a vis NA. But apart from NA, she also gets to do projects for other networks  when necessary. So when  another network  NW offered her to star in one of their projects, she nodded right away. 

Being a professional, VA also expects professional treatment from PS and all the people directly dealing with talents like her.. which is just right. The work that actors do, and the energy and preparation put into the craft is never easy. Therefore, to be treated right for all the hard work is the least PS can do for them.

   

But that is not so with NW when VA began doing the project for them. She kind of expected something better from NW owing to their self-proclaimed classy image and their status as a big network. During a break for mealtime, VA was aghast that they were served not the usual hot catered food with plates and utensils - but food came that came in cold, insufficient, and worst, were placed inside styrofoam boxes! 

Shocked, VA wanted to control herself but she just could not - she gave the PS concerned a big mouthful! People on the set shook their heads probably in agreement with VA. After letting it all out her chest, she asked them, “How much more degrading can you get to treat us this way?” VA even made comparisons saying that NW is a far cry from NA who knows how to give their stars and workers proper and dignified treatment.

Ravenous Workings of the Host

Over the years, the infamous host (IH) has amassed a substantial amount of money, lavish homes, impressive vehicles, etc. First, he has a contract that brings him eight figures per month. In addition, the amount generated by his sponsors goes directly to him. Second, his studio even bumped off a talented star just to accommodate his need for a better location.

However, IH is still not happy - he wants more than what he is getting. His monthly take (not including product sponsorship that is guaranteed for a minimum of three months) is divided equally between him and two executives (E1 and E2). Since his contract is about to end, he wants a substantial increase in his monthly take, and a change in the sharing. IH wants 60%, while E1 and E2 will get 20% each. E1 has agreed to the proposal, but E2 refused. E2 claims that he was responsible for brokering the deal between IH and the current network. Thus, IH and E2 had a falling out and E2 no longer attends the events of IH.

Now, IH is calling the attention of some bigwigs in his network to start fixing his contract. Since a new executive was hired a few months ago, IH is worried that it might not be renewed.

So, what does he do? In his show, he started greeting his former co-hosts, and thus, has given the impression that he is indeed moving out. Well, there is more to that. IH seems to be pursuing and getting    chummy with the higher ups of his former network.

He was seen having a casual conversation with one of the siblings of the owners in a vacation spot down south. The owners of this network do not really interfere with the way things are run in their network, as they believe in their competent management. IH is also trying to gain favour from a powerful network insider (NI).

NI is responsible for the quality of talents that the network has. However, IH has a sworn enemy (SE) in the network. SE is one of the pillars of the production/management team. SE will be a difficult match for IH as both have had a connection that ran deep, and which had hurt SE in the past.

How far will greed go? Will IH leave the network who gave him the chance when he left? Will his former network welcome him back hoping he could topple the other show that has reigned over for decades?

Classless Bullying

There's an ongoing big rift (again) among family members FM; and this time it really seems like a big explosion is unfolding.

It is within their circles’ knowledge that family member 2 FM2 got romantically involved  with a very much-married  government official GO. In the beginning of their affair,  the unlikely couple tried to brush off and dismiss the rumors by trying not to be seen together. Not being seen together was a challenge given their present circumstances. Yet the “not-so-hidden”  love affair continues uninterrupted to this day right under the nose of GO’s wife. 

Many agree that FM2’s separation from her husband HH was allegedly triggered by GO’s coming into their life. FM2 had been wanting all along to be free from HH but couldn’t find a perfect time to do it. When GO "gatecrashed"  into their home, he was warmly welcomed by FM2, no less. And the rest, as they say, is history. 

When in public, FM2 and GO try to be as discreet as possible. But the public’s roving eyes are everywhere. Hence, trying to conceal their tightly-guarded secret becomes an exercise in futility. When before, people talked about it in hushed tones, even damaging details (ie photos) have been out in the open, with FM3 being pointed to as the culprit. 

Family member 1 FM1 is not exactly pleased as another family member FM4 is being dragged into the brouhaha. The very protective FM1 vowed to use her powers to put FM3 in her place if she won’t shut up. 

FM3 and FM4 will be breathing the same air soon. Let’s see who gets suffocated first.

Behind a Not-so-Genuine Image

When celebrities endorse products, other than keeping up to the contract, the highest demand is for the celebrity to be a patron of the product, especially when he/she is in public.

Nowadays, celebrities are technologically adept. As such, part of their packaging is defined by how they conduct themselves in public and virtually in various forms of media. For example, some of them have gained fame and/or notoriety over twitter, instagram, or facebook. Their presence and behavior in these media undeniably help ignite and fuel public interest in them, particularly on what they post on a regular basis.

Celebrity Endorser (CE) is no different as she is very active in interacting with people in both traditional and virtual media. However, unlike most of her colleagues, CE is articulate, credible and sincere - the very requirements to be an effective product endorser.

At present, CE is an endorser of an electronic brand, in particular a gadget which is as famous as its next competitor, but not yet as popular among the hip generation. CE was actively promoting the brand in social media and declaring her pride in being chosen to be part of it and its campaign. Imagine the surprise and dismay of some of her followers when they saw CE using the competitor’s mini product while she was in a high-end mall.

Smart as she is, surely CE knows that acceptable endorser's demeanor in public is the gauge and/or barometer by which she or anyone like her would be judged. Such is critical to her image and the product/s that she endorses. Anyone in advertising will tell that amongst all prerequisites, a star's credibility is what makes the cut.

Lucky for CE, no one has yet snapped a photo of her tinkering with the competitor's item and posted it online. Otherwise, that would be her biggest gaffe.

The Climactic Couple

Popular candidate PC is being whispered to be in love…again. PC is not the type who will divulge anything about her love life. In fact, she is a certified denial queen - will deny to death her past dalliances no matter what and despite the sightings of her and the guy/s in question having good times abroad.

The latest guy who is rumored  to be singing her sweet hosannas is a long-time friend, albeit a controversial one CO. CO's real marital status had been a mystery. On press releases coupled with family pictures, CO is often pictured as an ideal father and husband, almost a perfect family man. Yet his private circumstances prove otherwise.

CO is every inch a gentleman, his mysterious appeal adds more to his machismo. Wasn’t the very quiet CO often rumored to be a lady's man – the one caught red-handed  inside the house of his paramour? Only then did the public know that his marriage was on the rocks. 

Women swoon over to his trim physique most especially during the younger years of this dashing man.  CO is never lacking in female admirers, especially PC who has now allegedly won his heart. PC is unattached at present and is likewise still a certified looker despite the years. And many still really find her attractive. For a long time, PC's image seems to be leaning towards being the 'Muse' - you better get the drift. 

Now that the elections is forthcoming, do we expect more sightings of PC and CO? Or will both deliberately avoid each other to avoid the prying eyes of Fashion PULIS?  Both look good together ‘though. Careful..

The Writing is on the Wall

Is high profile personality HP quietly dealing with his personal dilemma? Through the years, this life survivor HP has defined himself as the product of countless life’s battles that were fought and conquered through blood, sweat and tears. HP saw them all: defeat, victory, and defeat again. But each time, he came out better than the first. He keeps saying that his life story is one for the books, very MMK’ish  as others say.

As a struggling artist, he quit school to pursue his dreams…. big dreams. Amid hunger and want, armed with only determination, he inched his way to get to where he is now. 

He knew he had it, the charm to woo the masses, and he capitalized on it. The mostly needy and gullible masses became his staunch  supporters and defenders to this day. Although they have dwindled in numbers, still they are what constitutes HP’s support base.

But at the rate HP’s career paces right now, looks like not all is rosy and encouraging. His show SH performance is underwhelming - hasn’t shown any progress inspite of the pricey and major make-over done. Described by critics as  a “rehash of the old,”  SH’s audience rating remains single digit for a long time. To be fair to HP, he works hard for SH, but seems the public is not drawn anymore.  

At present, there are talks that HP is not in a comfortable state with his network bosses. Allegedly, there are certain contract obligations that were not met and that have only been advantageous to HP. The low ratings aspect is not at all helping to assuage the situation.

Some sources say that HP is having problems with liquidity. This after his huge investment projects have remained at a standstill. HP tried to address the problem by disposing off some of his properties for cash - something must be really serious.

Observers say what has been obvious all along, HP’s flamboyant attitude is the culprit. He thinks nobody can outgive him. Still others see this as a foregone conclusion - a foreboding - HP had it too much, too soon. All things said, the bottomline is: Nothing is ever permanent.

Teen actress TA has got what it takes to make it in showbiz industry –  talent, pretty face and a happy disposition. For one so young, she has already proven herself worthy to be called an actress with quite a number of awards and recognitions given her.

Unlike some other stars her age, TA is a lot more passionate in her craft, more daring and competitive when it comes to unleashing her potentials. Apart from acting, she can competently do hosting, as well. TA takes her craft seriously, and knows what she wants. People who know her say she is independent,  responsible and matured. Which is why she has gained the respect of some industry veterans and followers, too. 

But when TA tried her hand at singing, not a few eyebrows were raised. But she didn't mind the skeptics and critics, and went on with rigorous preparations. She had voice lessons, a must for anyone going the musical foray. Her first single turned so well, vindicating herself in the process.

But  sometimes no matter how careful one is, he/she is bound to commit blunders when it is least expected. At the grand launch of her music album at a variety show, TA did a live number of her popular single. The well-prepared number was positioned towards the show’s finale to give it more impact. But it was such a disgusting number - she was singing out of tune with mostly flats. She failed miserably and the tension was very visible on her face. She tried hard to recover, but unfortunately, she couldn’t redeem herself. 

TA banged right there! 

The director was furious - off the air he shouted at TA. He blamed her for that unforgivable blunder, for  committing it right at the very launch of her album. Shrinking from embarrassment, TA took it all.

Kicking Her Brattiness

If you ask anyone popular star which will they prefer to do: a teleserye or a television commercial TVC, chances are, majority would prefer the latter. Why? Because as opposed to teleserye which requires tons of work and really long hours of taping, TVC’s are usually shot in a day or two at most and pays a lot bigger. Which is why stars strive hard to clinch endorsement deals - less work, more pay, more exposure.

But being a product endorser comes with big responsibility. You are to protect your image and that of the company and product/s you are endorsing. Anything that sullies an endorser’s image will boomerang on her/him sooner than expected. And that includes being able to work harmoniously with people within the TVC’s production. All that and more entail deep commitment. Suffice it to say that nothing’s like a free lunch all the way.

Actress and endorser AE is an in demand product endorser. In one of her endorsement shoots, the hairstylist HS noticed that AE was not in her best element. By her expression, it was obvious that she was pissed. AE was so fussy and kept doing things that made HS work more difficult. When HS asked what was bothering her, AE replied, “ I’m okay.”

But any HS familiar with stars’ quirks knows only too well. HS sensed that her annoyance was about the styling he was doing on her. HS went on subtle defense and said that he was following instructions to do a certain peg for her. Then he continued working on her. Being at vantage point, HS got curious and looked at what AE was typing on her celfone. The message read that AE was complaining to her road manager RM that she was so pissed with HS.

HS was of course outraged, AE’s complaints are way beyond HS control. Had she been more prudent, AE could have asked for an HS of her choice before the shoot, but she didn’t. Instead AE chose to take her rants and gripes on him. Poor, helpless HS. - but make no mistake.. HS wanted to teach her a lesson. Toward the last part of the shoot, HS vented his ire on AE and intentionally burned her hair! Damage was quite big that AE had to have her hair cut short.

Moral lesson: As with waiters who will spit on your food in revenge, do not ever mess with your stylists.

Raving for Comfort and Vigor

Hunky actor HA was probably inspired by the success of his much younger and more popular brother PB that he, too, decided to join the showbiz bandwagon. To be fair to him, he is as talented if not more talented than PB. Apart from  being a good dancer,  HA can confidently carry a tune, too. He had to his credit done considerable number of tv shows over the years. Some people say  that HA has a lot more sex  appeal than PB, who like him is a great dancer, too. Being good looking,  HA has obviously gained fans and admirers, including gay admirers, too.

Both PB and HA take care of their bodies a lot knowing that in the highly competitive world of showbiz, all things being equal, having a great physique is what makes the cut. HA has to prove himself harder ‘though as he has yet to reach the status of bro PB. That’s why he is a very disciplined lot, taking his workouts seriously and passionately, never wanting to miss any session.

One of his regular gym mates is one talented actor TA, a reality search winner and a homegrown talent. TA who is a looker himself is as intense both personally and professionally. He has proven himself very well as an actor and is a passionate artist as well. He and HA share many things in common that ultimately brought them real close together. 

Being regular gym buddies, their friendship blossomed such that they not only are gym buddies but also do other stuff together like going to the spa and sauna. In other words, both HA and TA have become far too close for comfort. To some extent, this may be okay.  But if people close to you start to feel some kind of cringe and discomfort, then that’s when it becomes a bother.

When too much closeness has reached a level that is more than just friendship, even more than just bromance. – then it’s time to take a long hard look. Just a thought – what could  be their girlfriends thinking?

Parrying Public Opinion

Good-looking celebrity GC has always kept own gender issues a secret. For the most part, GC gets away with it but not without the usual bashing from avid showbiz followers.

In the beginning GC was successful in hiding GC's true identity. GC was fantacized by countless admirers, even network top guns fell for GC's irresistible charm and sex appeal. GC has had several brushes with the opposite sex that's why people are in a quandary about GC's real sexuality. Yet GC doesn't succumb to pressure to come out and proclaim the truth in public. Seems, GC is enjoying the mystery in the public eye and consciousness.

When GC's  teleserye opposite a more popular star PS began airing, it was such a hit that their fans contended that the love angle between GC and PS was for real. For a while GC rode on with the public re PS. But when PS belatedly shown disinterest with their tandem's being made to look like real, PS slowly severed from GC especially when PS was the one who caught GC red handed being with same-sex partner. 

But the very professional and level-headed GC can never be put down just so easily. To this day, GC is well loved by peers and network bosses if only for the kind of attitude GC brings into - both personally and professionally. GC's kindness rubs off on people, quite a tough act to follow, others say. But still some passionate haters/bashers won't just stop.

GC's frequent public sightings with a popular star PS had people speculate that they are the new couple. But those in GC's circle know only too well that it is near impossible. PS' new single-blessedness seems not ready for a new adventure. People in GC's circle think the frequent sightings with PS is just a 'beard', or a camouflage.

Nothing was written about it, but GC has had a long-time partner in the person of a very cool and hot medical representative MR. Both GC and MR complement each other in terms of looks, as MR is also a shoo-in for movie star looks. GC loves MR very much as MR deeply cares. Sometime ago, the athletic GC met an accident that gave GC bruises all over the body. When interviewed about the accident, GC said it felt good. Felt good? Really?

MR was there with GC  all the way to give that special TLC. Hmmm, was that why it felt so good? Indeed!

One By One

Is there a season of exodus of talents now happening in a major network MN? Some are secret, others whispered, still others  are openly talked about. There is disgust permeating  in the air within MN for the longest time. What is utterly depressing to most is the alleged obvious ‘favoritism’ within MN which has gone beyond tolerable level. 

More and more talents are saying that less talented or even talentless stars TS  get to clinch more projects vis a vis  the others  who are obviously more deserving MD -  bright, talented, driven and interesting. MD’s reckon that they, the truly committed and passionate artists are left to rot and worse,  given crumbs. For them and the rest of the stars, this is certainly not the best way for MN to boost the morale of its talents. To say that the practice is unfair is a big understatement.

Stars complain about the utter disregard/ and or disrespect of MN for the years that they have honed their craft in the industry. MN often focuses on what or who is popular regardless if he/she is still raw for the project or not. They reckon that with MN, it is always a play of numbers, always focusing on particular loveteams that have big fan base but have yet to prove themselves in terms of real talent. The culture has always been about profits, not inculcating the need to further hone one’s craft.  

Just because a loveteam is popular means they always get to corner all the big projects. MD’s feel that the system really sucks and very demoralizing. The most talented people cannot function without the right organizational support. They need help. Give it to them so they can meet and exceed expectations. To them, it’s about time that MN gets the message.              

The list of talents who are to take the plunge is getting longer. Apart from the two singers who have already  jumped long ago to the rival network RN, the others have followed suit, the latest being the one who had a recent sign up. Among those planning a serious turnaround are a young exotic actress who had been without projects for so long, a talented young actor, a good-looking  homegrown actor, and a multi-awarded stage actor. Should they jump ship, their presence will definitely be an added boost to the lackluster line-up of talents of RN’s. 

Insiders hope that this will not be the trend with MN circle, otherwise the huge loss would boomerang on them, big time.

I Don't Compete, I Kill the Competition

While being  physically-challenged will make other girls want to vanish into oblivion, it is not so for this very confident and strong-willed star CS . She began as a child star and rose from there. Inspite of her physical limitations, this diminutive lady is daring enough to be different and be a cut above the rest.  Yet she also strives to be wholesome as much as possible.  

CS has her share of critics and passionate bashers - who in this industry is safe from haters anyways?  She is called names, often the butt of jokes but she just shrugs them off. And why not, she laughs at herself even. She knows she is not a head-turning pretty girl like her colleagues – but she more than makes up for it through her talent – which she knows she has lots of.

Apparently, her bold and strong character is her best asset. It has in fact helped her land some good projects more than her 'prettier' colleagues. In every project, CS  does not settle for mediocrity. She always makes sure she would impact and stand out.

Often, she would  do things with great abandon regardless whether she gets bashed or not.

At a taping of her show, her male co-stars wondered why their undies were often missing. Turned out, CS was behind it. She would steal every underwear she would see in the dressing room and keep them all, never to be seen again by their owners. Even when found out, she would stand her ground and proudly proclaim that the undies were hers and will never be returned. To date, the boys’ underwear pieces has now become her private collection. 

Young as she is, CS is already this naughty. Uh oh…are we in for a big surprise soon?

Not Really Virtuous After All

Public display of affection or PDA as they are called, is the act wherein two people do an intimate act in public. It could be a couple kissing or two girls holding hands, it is anything that displays affection between two people.

PDA's are part of every relationship but it is something that should be done responsibly so it is best to learn the rules. The limits of what is acceptable and isn’t must be kept in mind. Do not cross the line. As a rule of thumb, keep your PDA limited to things that you can see from other people without feeling the need to turn away. If you don’t want to see others conducting themselves in a certain way, chances are the feeling is mutual.  

Holding hands, a goodbye kiss, putting hands on each others’ waist constitute PDA that’s fine and not rude at all. A man placing his hand on her shoulders suggests they’re a couple and not inherently offensive. Anything that isn’t intimate enough and would not make people around you uncomfortable and grossed out is okay. 

Excessive babying like two adults feeding each other and grooming one another can upset even the strongest of stomachs. Ass smacks, used sparingly and with humor would be okay but it’s a risky endeavor so might as well do it with caution. Too much  PDA is definitely frowned at, majority finds this practice so off especially if being done by people they have high regard for.

Beautiful Host BH and her friend FR have lost a show together allegedly as a result of too much PDA’s on the set.  Everyday, the two, who got introduced to each other and whose relationship bloomed while on the show, would kiss passionately, embrace and did other intimate acts as if the set was their private space, to the utter annoyance and discomfort of people around them. Their co-hosts in the show had long been grossed out  by the couple’s behavior and thus telegraphed their sentiments to the bosses concerned. 

Lesson learned:  Couples should act in accordance to the culture of the place they are in. What about you?
