The Best Movie Jewellery of All Time

Film award ceremonies and premieres of late have inspired many jewellery designers to try their hand at replicating some of the most beautiful jewellery seen in the world's most famous films. From the elegant pieces of the classic black and white movies to the show-stopping sparkle of pieces in modern-day films, there is no doubt that some incredibly stunning jewellery items have graced cinema screens over the years. Provided below is a summary of five films featuring necklaces, rings and earrings that will stop you in your tracks.

Heart of the Ocean
One of the most famous necklaces in the film industry has to be the Heart of the Ocean, otherwise known as the glittering jewel necklace that formed a central part of the film, Titanic. Although there was initially some confusion about what the setting was, with many mistaking it for a blue diamond, the wardrobe department from the film later revealed that it was a blue cubic zirconium. The jeweller who created the necklace was asked to design another version of the same necklace. This new version featured diamonds worth several million pounds and a stunning 170-carat Sapphire jewel. The necklace was worn at the 1998 Academy Awards by the singer Celine Dion, whose song, My Heart Will Go On, was featured in the film.

Rubies of Pretty Woman
One of the best scenes in the film Pretty Woman is, without a shadow of a doubt, the one in which Edward gives Vivian a box and snaps it shut whilst Vivian bursts out laughing. The Diamond and Ruby necklace inside went beautifully with her now iconic white gloves and red gown. The piece is thought to be worth more than £200,000 and was created by one of the most famous jewellery shops in France, Fred Joaillier. The necklace was made from 18k white gold and was then encrusted with diamonds and rubies.

Monroe's Diamonds
The jewels worn by iconic beauty Marilyn Monroe whilst acting in the film, Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend, are still adored by all who watch this film today. Her collection of jewellery during the film was so large that it's almost impossible to choose just one piece; in one scene, where Marilyn wore the stunning hot pink dress, she was draped in diamond bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces.

Carrie and the Black Diamond
Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City 2 wore an eye-catching 5-carat black diamond ring. Big, the love of Bradshaw's life, gives her the ring because he considers her to be unique, just like the diamond. Black diamonds became hugely popular after the film aired, much like the 'Carrie' letter necklace shot to fame during the television series.

Yellow Isadora Diamonds
Last, but certainly not least, is the Isadora necklace with an 84-carat yellow diamond, worn by Kate Hudson in the film, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The real necklace is reportedly worth £3 million; however, even the replica used in the film was worth £8,000!

Loving Your Wrinkles

We don't like wrinkles. But we can actually love it and live with it. Let's just say that wrinkles can be beautiful. There are actually different views regarding wrinkles, and some learned to love it. Some view it as sign of wisdom and reminders for life's lessons especially when we were younger.

Anyone who doesn't know Cameron Diaz?

She is gorgeous. In one article in usmagazine.com, she said "I feel so much more attractive now. A thousand percent. I'm appreciating my skin and my wrinkles and all those things."

She just loves who she is and appreciates everything that she has. Now that's called women empowerment. There are actually some wrinkles that we should have. These symbolize something and can show what happened in our life.

Wrinkles that should be there

Sign of joy

One of the common type of wrinkle that most of us want to remove is the crow's feet, the ones that we can find beside our eyes. In fact, the Chinese call these joy lines. Basically, these represent pure smile and pure laughter. You can only have these when you are genuinely expressing your happy emotions.

Lines of wisdom

The horizontal lines in our foreheads are the ones that are commonly targeted by derm clinics and treatment creams. I'm sure a lot of us wished these lines to be removed because they make us look older. I'm guilty of this too.

However, these actually represent the items when we learned something, or experienced something that changed our life. Usually these happens when we are younger - in our twenties. The lines represent wisdom or survival of some really hard events in our life. So these actually serve as reminders of our past.

A symbol of true beauty

According to an article in naturalhealthmag.com.au, "A woman who can use her facial expressions to display confidence, love, laughter and emotion radiates an attractiveness that can't be replicated by expressions frozen in time. Wrinkles display warmth and charisma, adding character to our faces."

Wrinkles show a woman's real personality. She can show her real self to others through these. It is a symbol of beauty because wrinkles show maturity and femininity. At the same time it is also liberating and empowering for women to be themselves - that's what makes women who learned to love their wrinkles beautiful.

Closing thoughts

Wrinkles can really be annoying sometimes. But it's time to appreciate them and the role that they play in our lives. They're there for a reason, and they show who we really are as a person. For some people who experience aging. I mean excessive aging that causes more than just wrinkles. There are some health benefits to getting hormone therapy. One of the clinics that you can visit is the American Longevity Center.

Finally, one last statement - appreciate your wrinkles.
