His Mock Collection

Clothes, bags, shoes, and baseball caps are the most common things celebrities collect because of their practical use and status symbol. Owning authentic clothes, designer bags, shoes, etc…create a certain image for the celebrity owner. Not only does he/she have bragging rights about knowing which brands and styles are in or out, the celebrity also gives the impression that he/she has the purchasing power to be fashionable. Now, the critical part happens when a celebrity is innocently caught not knowing what is authentic or not. Take the case of this actor-dancer (AD) of a big network. Other than being talented on the dance floor and having no qualms about being open to transforming his image onscreen, AD is known for his shoe collection.

In a TV guesting, AD casually said that he has close to 200 pairs of such shoes. Then, he was asked where he purchased his shoes. AD replied that he bought shoes online. That would have been a good answer already. However, AD was probably overwhelmed with his online shopping spree that he started to elaborate that he was so convinced in the seller because of the quality, brand, and the price. AD continued with pride that the seller had low prices compared to other stores. During the interview, AD said he was waiting for his order of almost 50 pairs!

The problem is that the site allegedly sells knock-offs of branded shoes. Did AD know that part of his collection could be fake and that all along, he might have been wearing Class A shoes thinking they were authentic? Instead of gaining admiration, AD is getting disappointing comments about wearing and owning such shoes in his collection. Being a celebrity, AD should lead in advocating authentic products, rather than brag about collecting very close replicas. As AD matures in the industry, he should also be more conscious of what he wears so he can add some class to his waning status.

Can you identify who AD is? Please abide by the RULES in writing comments if you want me to post them. Initials and comments that are too explicit will not be accepted.
