Capital punishment is an expensive, arbitrary and inefficient state program.  Wouldn't we be better off replacing the death penalty with life sentences, and focusing on crime prevention, crime solving and assistance to crime victims? The answer is absolutely.  The reasons are laid out in a piece I wrote as a guest blogger for Justia, a great legal website that in addition to legal articles and blogs, provides free case law, codes, regulations, and data bases, as well as community resources.  Click HERE for the link to the article.
