It is clear to all of Macedonia that "Green Coalition" from Veles not reached here easily to hand battle against Smelter of Veles, or, as they call it, the "silent killer". Use all permissible measures to get what they are looking for - the right to a healthy environment membrane filteration for all citizens of Veles.
Because of this, "Green Coalition" this time cleverly membrane filteration used the legal opportunity that gives Environmental Law and challenge the decision of the Ministry of Environment which establishes the need for assessment of the environmental impact of the smelter. Environmental impact assessment involves the preparation of a study that considered all possible alternatives (including membrane filteration the zero alternative - not to open smelter!) And is the only way through which must pass Metrudhem (factory owner) if he wants to reboot the lead and zinc smelter. But obviously not so easy to pass as it did a number of other major pollutants in Macedonia.
As a result of the complaint the Ministry of Environment said it voluntarily suspends the procedure for environmental impact assessment until a decision the State Commission for administrative membrane filteration decisions in labor relations and procedure in the second degree. The options available to the Commission (pursuant to the Law on General Administrative Procedure): To reject the appeal; accept membrane filteration the appeal and reverse the decision in whole or in part; either accept the appeal and to amend the appealed decision.
