In today's update on the New Delhi rape & murder case, Yahoo! News brings us more harrowing details of the night she was raped and left to die. Serious trigger warning!
As I read through the details, to bring my opinion of humanity to a new low (seriously, the men on the bus took turns driving so they could all rape her!), I skipped the section on the victim.
It's not that I don't want to know who she was, but I feel as if those sections are there to make us feel outraged that such a great person was taken from the world.
I DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE WALKING AROUND NAKED AT 3 AM, NO ONE DESERVES TO BE RAPED.
You don't have to be an honors student for me to feel outraged at your rape. I already know this young woman was amazing, her parents bucked tradition to send her to school, so they saw how amazing she was. That's all I need to know. I get to know a lot of young women who come to the USA for graduate education from India. One practically got off the plane to get to an interview a few years ago. I hired her and am now enjoying her updates from the fab tech company she is kicking ass at. The Indian women I know are all amazing and often arrive at my office eager to push women's rights forward. I imagine this unnamed young woman was just like them.
But I cry not just for her, but also for the unnamed women who are raped in India, the USA and around the world who won't be the apple of their parents' eye, who have made more than their fair share of bad decisions and who I might not think are good people. Rape is not a punishment. For anyone.
Perhaps 2013 will reveal a way for us to discuss rape without having to have "good victims" to tell people that rape is bad.
Kentucky Children's Hospital at the University of Kentucky is reviewing its cardio-thoracic surgery program and referring surgical patients to other hospitals, "but the reasons why are unclear," Brenna Angel reported Dec. 21 for WUKY-FM, the university-owned station.
Angel did identify "the surgeon at the center of the review," Dr. Mark Plunkett, left, who is on a leave of absence but "remains on staff at UK with a $700,000 annual salary," as chief of cardio-thoracic surgery. "UK denied an open-records request for the date of his most recent surgery and his patient mortality rate," citing privacy rules in the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It was unclear how release of such statistics, without any personally identifying information, would compromise privacy. Plunkett and officials of the medical center refused to be interviewed.
"It's been pretty hush-hush," Tabitha Rainey of Lexington, the mother of a Plunkett patient, told Angel, who reported: "Plunkett and his assistant Dr. Deborah Kozik operated on Waylon seven days after he was born. Tabitha was later told that Dr. Plunkett was taking a leave of absence." Rainey told Angel, "Months went past and they lost another patient, who was a dear friend of mine, and it was pretty heavy in the unit at the time. Then soon after I guess they decided to stop doing the surgeries and review the entire program."
Angle was able to get some records from UK and reported they showed that "The number of children Dr. Plunkett operated on this year is down around 43 percent from two years ago." UK Trustee Dr. Charles Sachatello, a surgeon who sits on the Board of Trustees' health-care committee, told Angel, "I was not aware of that, and that was never announced at the Board of Trustees meeting." Sachatello told Angel that UK should merge its pediatric heart program with the one at the University of Louisville because of the high operational costs of such programs. (Read more)
Beautiful Celebrity BC is so into this hot male model HM, to the extent that she tries to follow and stalk him as much as she can. BC's action is something HM abhors so much knowing that people speculate a lot on her presence whenever he is around. He can be right though because people really see them as such -- friends with benefits, that is.
At HM's recent gig with a another family member held at a posh venue at the Fort, BC arrived to give him support, with It Girls in tow. But HM wasn't impressed, he was in fact annoyed by it all. He told BC off that he wants nothing more than friendship between them. He turned her down, saying that she must stop getting too close. BC was furious saying she didn't deserve such treatment from him. Thus she made a rundown of all the help and everything that she did for him from the very beginning. People in the know ask what would she do that for? Same people reckon that she surely had vested interests right from the start.
HM's change of heart for BC is quite understandable. He knows that everything with her should only be temporary, and that BC must not claim that it will lead to anything serious. At his point, HM is right to assume that he has more to lose. Apart from a career that he and his close relative desperately desire, HM is into a serious relationship. And this one he can not afford to lose, definitely.
Will there come a time when BC finally come to her senses and stop chasing boys? Shouldn't she concentrate more on her career for the sake of her little loved ones who depend on her? Well, as they say -- a guava tree will not bear mangoes.

Following are the frequent diseases which are most common in people over 50 years of age:

The most common symptoms are irritability, confusion and long-term memory loss. Although it is generally reported in people over 65, it is also being frequently found in people over 50.
• Osteoporosis: It is the disease which makes the bones of the aged people brittle which an increased chance of fracture. This mainly happens due to the loss of tissue caused by the deficit of Vitamin D and calcium. It has no such symptom. This disease increases the risk of breaking a bone whenever an elderly falls down.
• Hair Loss: The most common cause of hair loss in aged people is balding. The growth rate of hair decreases as a person grows old. The follicles that surround the root of the hair also do not often respond properly. Moreover, it is seen that hair loss in aged people is caused due to diabetes, hypothyroidism and deficiency of iron in the body.
Although these are the most common diseases in aged people over 50 years of age, there are numerous minor and fatal diseases which affect the human body. In order to stay fit, healthy and away from these diseases as much as possible, extensive care for the elderly must be taken. The elderly people should be taken to frequent checkups, so that it is not too late to diagnose a disease. They should indulge daily in simple physical exercises like morning walks. When they are ill, home health care services must be contacted. These service providers are trained professionals who are expert in taking care of the elderly people during a disease and help them get back to normal lifestyle as soon as possible.

Use neutral paint to emphasize the manly feel of the room. Use leather seating to increase the feeling of relaxing and enjoying the games. Granite bars going in front of the seating will be a great place to serve beer and snacks. Or, if that's too elaborate, you can get the seats that have a cup holder attached to them and use trays to serve food.
3. Go simple
If your home theater is more prominent in your house, you may not want a novelty room front and center. If you want to incorporate your home theater into the rest of you house's decor, match the paint and lighting to reflect that. Choose light walls. Since you may not be able to set up stadium style seating, you can just build one level above the ground level. This way, people can sit on the floor and on the couch above without feeling crammed.
4. Go modern
If you like clean lines and want to emphasize the techie feel of the home theater choose a concrete bar for the back of the room and concrete walls. Choose square chairs that emphasize strong lines and make the lighting just as angular. The result will be Star Trek meets Pottery Barn, and it will be beautiful.
5. Go kid friendly
If the home theater is mostly going to be for the kids, consider letting them weigh in. Of course, you might not be able to model the theater after a princess castle or spider man, but you can get some ideas that can be translated into a more civilized space. Consider hanging pictures of the kids' favorite cartoon characters or getting colorful sconces that make the space fun for kids but still tasteful enough for adults.
Once you've decided on your video equipment and you've started to set up the technology, you'll want to start considering the design of the room. It's great that you'll have a new fun room for the family, but it can be that much more fun if you make the room really cool -- whatever cool means to you and your family.

Reality search winner actor RA has been lacking in tv and movie projects lately. That is why he accepts provincial projects on a regular basis for some income. Normally, it is his road manager RM1 who usually accompanies him, and sometimes there are other staff who tag along, too.
On the way to Manila from one of those provincial tours, RA team's vehicle (van) was still spacious as they were only a handful of them with him, including 2 road managers.
RA was seated at the back area with RM1. The other one, RM2 and some other staff were in the front and middle seats. As they were sailing along the highway, RA was feeling bored and naughty. Thus he motioned this RM1 to give him a "hand" thing -- and nothing more. Even if they were just motioning and whispering to each other, RM2 could hear them.
Although surprised with RA's request, RM1 willing gave in to him and did what was requested. All the time that they were doing it, RM2 was well aware with everything that was going on and the conversations in between.
Is RA really that "excited" as to do it anywhere, anytime the need hits him? Well, there are rumors about his past that seem to connect to this behavior. Or maybe it's just young hormones going so active. At any rate, RA should better be careful the next time around. Otherwise, doing it with people around is always an invitation to get BI'd in FP like this..hahaha!

These rosemary and sea salt pecans are incredibly addictive. You've now been warned: do not make these on an empty stomach. The first time I made these, I think I ate about a cup in one sitting. This is serious business.
When roasting nuts, it's important to roast them at no higher than 170 degrees F because high temperatures cause nuts to break down their fats and produce free radicals. (This is also why you never want to use olive oil for high temperature cooking.) To get around this, you can gently roast the nuts in the oven at 170 degrees F or, if you prefer a raw version, use a food dehydrator at an even lower temperature.
Note: I tried a batch of these in my dehydrator at 110 degrees F for 6 hours and they did not get the same "roasted" flavor as in the oven, but they were toasty and delicious all the same.
Rosemary and Sea Salt Pecans Makes 2 cups
2 cups whole pecans 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt (or more to taste)
Preheat oven to 170 degrees F. Toss pecans with oil, rosemary, and salt. Lay flat on sheet pan and bake for 15 - 20 minutes, or until nuts are toasted.

A few years ago, comedy performer (CP) might have gotten her way with her male co-host (MH) in a successful series that was considered a breakthrough for the network. At that time, CP had an overwhelming crush on MH. CP cannot be blamed for her feelings as MH is the boy-next-door type, fun, and well-mannered. A very competent host, MH handled the shows entrusted to him with aplomb. Although he tried acting, it was never his genre.
Adding to his appeal is the challenge that must have enticed CP. MH has a relationship and was never rumoured to have been disloyal. In one of their out of town tapings, CP kept teasing and flirting with MH. For the production, the actions of CP were normal as she has always been funny on and off camera. In other words, there was no cause for alarm, and thus no one minded CP.

Summer months are a time when people enjoy the outdoors with their families and friends. The warmer temperatures and the longer hours of daylight mean extra trips to recreational areas and even family vacations. Often wilderness areas are ideal spots for camping and summer family vacations, and necessitate the need for long drives. The first thing that a driver should check their vehicle for in the summer months is the exterior.
