Linux OS that runs from a CD, no need to install

Knoppix is an operation system (OS) that runs from a CD. It is refreshing to know that you do not need to wait for 2-4 hours to install Windows... This is a Linux distribution and may be we should give it try. It has everything on a single CD - a full office suite, Web browsers, an e-mail client, and more.

It looks tempting until, of course, Google creates a web-based OS, and all this Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux debate becomes irrelevant.
