Make sure your first aid serves its purpose!

Until you really really need it, you often don't even think about having a first aid kit. Having the right first aid kit can save the day in a home or office situation. Apart from that, as a responsible workplace manager you should take care of the welfare of your workers by having first aid at the ready. By adding and subtracting just a few items from your kit you
  • If travel or spend a lot of time in the car you should definitely invest in a car kit
  • If you are out and about doing fieldwork or outdoor activities, a bumbag might be the best kind of kit for you
  • Specialised hiking kits are also available
  • Your kit should comprise of a series of basic items like gauze, adhesive tape, eyewash, sterile wipes and gloves as well as a selection of specialised items like burn treatments, depending on the kind of work you do
  • You should update your kit every two to three years
  • consider buying a separate first aid kit for your kitchen and then one for the rest of the house, as the kitchen is one of the main danger areas in the home
  • Make sure you include these items in your kit, these are often forgotten; emergency phone numbers and contact numbers, medical consent forms, the medical history of any family members, sunscreen, a flashlight and candles, a syringe, a medical cup and spoon, an epi pen, and diarrhoea medication.

Tips to Reduce Risk of Salmonella

In case you haven't been keeping up with the news, you might want to be wary of your eggs. There may be bacteria lurking in your eggs Benedict due to a recent suspected salmonella contamination at Hillandale Farms and Wright County Eggs in Galt, Iowa.

Food and Drug Administration alerted the company of salmonella contamination at one of its farms. The FDA encountered salmonella enteritidis during a routine inspection, at which point the company voluntarily sounded the alarms.

Salmonella bacteria can cause infections that may result in fever, nausea/vomiting, chills, muscle cramps and pain, and/or diarrhea. Symptoms usually pass within a few days, but can last much longer in children and people with weakened immune systems. Salmonella is more likely to be found in undercooked eggs or those stored above 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

As of now, there may be as many as 1,500 cases of food poisoning related to contaminated eggs. Wright County Eggs cautions consumers to be on the lookout for the following:

Eggs sold under the brands Lucerne, Mountain Dairy, Ralph's, Boomsma's, Albertson, Sunshine, Hillandale, Farm Fresh, Trafficanda, Lund, Shoreland, Kemps and Dutch Farms.

Six-, eight-, or 18-egg cartons with labels starting with the letter P; containing code numbers 1026, 1413 or 1946, and Julian dates between 136 and 225. A label would appear as "P-(Code Number)-(Julian Date)"

The recall only affects shell eggs, and Wright County Eggs assures consumers that its other egg products are safe. The company continues to work with the FDA to investigate possible sources of contamination. They have further taken steps to destroy any potentially affected eggs.

In the meantime, you can keep up with the latest egg updates from the Egg Safety Center or the Food and Drug Administration.

Cialis And Similar Yet Natural Alternatives

BY: Nitin Vaghela

Cialis is a drug that is used in the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). The problem is more common in older men although men of any age can suffer.

How it works
A complicated series of actions and reactions must occur for a man to gain and maintain an erection. The end result is that chemicals are released in order to relax certain muscles and allow blood flow to the penis to increase, thus causing erection. Erection ceases when a chemical called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) is released and breaks down the other chemical, causing the blood flow to decrease and the penis to return to its flaccid state.

Cialis' active ingredient is Tadalafil. This works to inhibit PDE5, meaning the chemicals that cause increased blood flow to the penis remain intact for longer, resulting in a longer asting erection.

Is it Safe?
As with any medication, men need to consult a doctor before using Cialis. Because tadalifil is a blood thinner, there are certain medications that cannot be taken in conjunction with Cialis including any form of nitrate. Using both of these forms of medication together, or anything else that can lead to low blood pressure, such as alcohol or blood pressure tablets, can cause extreme and sudden low blood pressure, resulting in more serious complications.

The treatment can also cause side-effects such as:
Headache
Nausea
Diarrhea
In rare occasions, often with people already suffering from a different medical condition such as a heart condition,
Cialis may cause:
Chest pains
Palpitations
Strokes
The treatment is by no means safe to use by everyone. A medical exam should be taken and all available options should be discussed with the doctor before a definite course of action is taken.

Alternatives
There are other medications on the market that are designed to treat ED including Viagra and Levitra. Although these two medications use different active ingredients, they act in the same way; by using chemicals to increase blood flow to the penis. Therefore, the side-effects and risks are almost the same.

Natural pills for erectile dysfunction are widely believed to be much safer than the prescription drugs, purely for the fact that the ingredients are natural extracts of different herbs and plants. Due to the lack of chemical, there is considerably less chance of some kind of allergic reaction with many of the natural pills having no side-effects at all.

A lot many people like you who take Cialis are worried about it side effects and are looking for different alternatives. I present you with a totally natural alternative to Cialis which does not have side effects and is doctor recommended.

Serious note about heart attacks and METHOD OF TREATMENT

Drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
  1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
  2. Gastric (10 days)
  3. Diabetes (30 days)
  4. Constipation (10 days)
  5. Cancer (180 days)
  6. TB (90 days)
  7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily..
  8. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
  9. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
  10. This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...
  11. For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
  12. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
  13. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
  14. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks:
  • Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
  • Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
  • You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
  • Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
  • 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
  • Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

Gallbladder Problems during Pregnancy

Many women experience gallbladder problems during pregnancy. We will describe some of the most common gallbladder problems that can occur during and after pregnancy. Various changes take place in a woman's body during pregnancy. Hormonal activity will change, which will affect other activities in the body. HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is produced by a woman's placenta. This hormone will help in the embryo development during the early stages of pregnancy. This hormone is responsible for fatigue and early sickness during pregnancy. Estrogen is another hormone created by the placenta and ovaries that increases during this period. It is responsible for normal development of baby's lungs, reproductive organs, and kidneys. Progesterone is created by the placenta and ovaries, and it is involved in the implantation of the ovum. This hormone is responsible for breast tenderness during pregnancy, but it can also cause headaches, constipation, as well as mood swings.

As you can see, many changes take place in the body during pregnancy. Some of the hormones affect the gallbladder, too.

Gallbladder Problems after Pregnancy

Gallbladder symptoms can be very similar to normal symptoms of pregnancy. First, let us describe the most common symptoms of gallbladder disorders.

Gallbladder disorders are usually characterized by symptoms like:
  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Belching
  • Bloating
As you can see, many of these symptoms are very similar to those of pregnancy. During pregnancy, most women have symptoms like abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Therefore, it is very hard to tell whether these symptoms indicate a gallbladder problem, or they are simply caused by pregnancy. It is important to go to your doctor regularly and control your health, especially if you are pregnant.

Generally, women are more prone to gallbladder disorders than men are, and pregnancy puts women at higher risk. The risk of gallbladder problems is increased during pregnancy because of the hormones.

Here is how some hormones affect your gallbladder. Progesterone levels in a woman's body will be increased during pregnancy. This hormone relaxes the muscles, so it also affects the gallbladder, reducing its contractions. That can stop the gallbladder from releasing the bile, and that can lead to various complications.

Gallbladder disorders will likely occur in the 3rd trimester. Most of these problems won't affect the baby's health; however, the consequences can cause problems to the baby's health. Gallbladder infection can prevent the mother's body from nourishing itself – and the baby.

Gallbladder problems should be treated in time. Proper treatment will prevent various complications, so it is important to have your gallbladder examined frequently during pregnancy.

In serious cases, gallbladder removal can be done. Even if you are pregnant, the risk of compilations after the surgery is quite low. However, it is very important to follow your doctor's instructions.

Certain problems may also occur after pregnancy. The body will experience certain changes once again; hormonal chances will take place, and this can also cause gallbladder problems. Weight loss after pregnancy may cause gallstones.

A pregnant woman must take care of her diet, especially if she has gallbladder problems. As you know, pregnant women are always advised to eat healthy foods. If you have gallbladder problems and you are pregnant, you must avoid alcohol, caffeine, fatty foods, junk foods, artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oils. These foods are unhealthy anyway, so it will be wise to avoid them. Consuming plenty of fruits, vegetables, natural juices, whole grains, lean meat and non-fat dairy products will be healthy for both you and your baby, and this diet will also help you prevent gallbladder problems.
