Torus palatinus
This bony growth on the palate is the most common exostosis of the maxillofacial skeleton. It usually does not cause symptoms, but removal may be required if it interferes with the function or denture placement. Approximately 20% of the population has at least a small torus palatinus, which often goes unnoticed until middle age. This condition occurs twice as often in women as in men.
