Out of Blogging Ideas? Use Twitter!

Twitter is a microblogging service where people answer the question "What are you doing?" via 140-character messages from their cellphone, laptop or desktop.

Twitter works well for creating a searchable, "no login required" archive of notes. As a bonus, you can use it later for blogging ideas.

In 2006, Dr. RW was wondering: "What'’s happening to the medical blogosphere? Here are some casual observations. Two of our more prolific med bloggers have called it quits (Medpundit and, more recently, Shrinkette). Two of our pioneers (Jacob Reider and Chris Rangel) are posting less frequently over the past year or so, and many of the links on Medlogs are either dead or have been inactive for months..."

Medical bloggers definitely have something to blog about, unlike the guy in the cartoon here. Many of them just do not have time.

AllergyNotes I have at least 4-5 blogging ideas for next week from Twitter. This is working unexpectedly well. I never expected to find Twitter useful...

Vijay
scanman @AllergyNotes I get almost all my non-radiology-case-related blog ideas from twitter nowadays.

AllergyNotes Many people who don't blog anymore are now very active on Twitter. It is less demanding and more instantaneous.
