BMJ: Scientific publishing no longer only about print, must include online publishing, broadcasting, communities

From the BMJ blog:

Scientific publishing is no longer about print but increasingly includes online publishing, creating online communities http://bit.ly/3EmXfH

The BMJ has its own social network, doc2doc. What about NEJM, JAMA and Lancet?

Most journals now produce videos and podcasts to go with their written material - publishers are broadcasters as well.

Soon almost everyone will have an internet phone and publishers will be able to to send specific content to each user http://bit.ly/3EmXfH

Medical news tweets are not research articles - they are 140-character messages - please always go to the original source/links, etc. The inclusion of a Twitter update (tweet) does not represent endorsement or agreement of any kind. Tweets and links do not represent endorsement, approval or support.
